Poya Living Mart... A Little, and Big, Girl's Wonderland
8/28/11
Sorry I have been lacking here my fellow readers! I'll try and be better at this...
Anyway, Mrs. Cindy took me to this amazing place: Poya Living Mart! To better describe what it is, look at it this way: it is a Sally Beauty Supply on steroids of ESTROGEN. Yes! The store, about the size of a Walgreens, is crazy! On the left side are cosmetics, shampoos, conditioners, bath soaps, lotions, and hair gels. On the left side there is any kind of hair accessory you could want, personal hygiene products, bathroom rugs, caddies, shelves, laundry baskets, bags, soap, and (I thought this was maybe a coincidence:) feminine products, conveniently located next to the 3 isles of snacks, candy, drinks and any other goody you could want when it is your time of the month.
So, in essence, this is a dreamland for every girl!

An Asian Jack Sparrow at Patrick's Musical
8/31/11
Last night, we attended Patrick's musical at the Red House in Ximen. (The area (Ximen) is famous for drawing in the entire teen and young adult scene of Taipei) The play/musical had opening night problems, lighting cues, microphone malfunctions, and music that drowned out the singers, but other than that it was pretty great! It was a strange story, I didn't understand it, being in chinese and all, but it was fun to watch BA pirate chicks and dudes track down Jack Sparrow and his gang. There were fight sequences, dance sequences, and decent sounding solo and group songs, so it was cute!

Dinner with the Liu Elders
9/2/11 Tonight I had dinner with King's parents and his brother and two daughters and son. They were all very kind and took a great interest in where I am from and details of my exchange. This is a picture of the shrimp that we had. We ate all of them, even the shell... It was actually a great crunchy treat!
Taipei Zoo
9/4/11 I went to the Taipei Zoo today, and it was fun! A lot of us exchange students from this district (3480) went, I think 28 out of the 53, so we had a considerably large group! The zoo was cool, I saw the two famous pandas, though they were sleeping... And it was pretty hot that day. I think I turned a shade darker of tan. I'm almost the color of toasted bread! :) Anyway, I took this picture with one of the panda statues outside the real panda exhibit.
The Introduction Speech
9/8 I gave a speech at my high school, introducing myself and a where I come from:)

9/12 Visited the Taipei Confucius Temple, and prayed for good luck on all of my tests!
